After several months of thought and consideration, I have decided to take down the Yukon Connection.
I want to make it crystal clear from the very beginning that this is not a gesture of spite or ego, nor a play at generating drama. This web page has always been about celebrating the best the furry fandom has to offer, and I have maintained it for over ten years as a labor of love with that objective in mind. It has never been about my own personal vanity.
In my humble opinion, there is nothing quite so sad as a once-robust web site turning into a stagnant one—and that is exactly what has happened with the Yukon Connection. Lately, I haven't been able to keep the site “alive” as I had in the past, and there are two main reasons for this:
Circumstances in my life have kept me from paying attention to many leisure project and activities, including writing, socializing and web page updates.
I haven't been collecting much furry artwork lately, and that is likely to remain the case for quite some time.
I am not leaving the fandom in a huff, or in any other manner; I will be around. I just need to focus on getting some essential facets of my life back in order. It is my hope, over time, to transfer the majority of the artwork I had showcased here over to my FurAffinity account, which can by accessed by clicking here. There, you will be able to see not only the artwork I have collected, but also all my contact information, and a favorites gallery that links to all the artists I am watching. FurAffinity offers an interface that is much more user-friendly than anything I could have put together here, and it really makes this site redundant and obsolete. It should go without saying that if you have any links or bookmarks set to this page, you should reset them to my FurAffinity page.
Over the last decade, I have been humbled and honored by the artwork I have received, all from the most wildly creative people I have ever had the chance to meet. I am proud to have had the opportunity to share this work with everyone who has visited the Yukon Connection—and I hope that relationship will continue with all of you over at FurAffinity. With that said, I would like to thank all the artists who have allowed me to showcase their work here, and all the folks who found it worth their time to give my humble home on the web a visit. Very special thanks go out to Bennie at macrophile.com for giving me a home here for all those years.
I am, and always shall be, proud to be a furry.
Thank you very much, everyone.
